"With its Neolithic, causewayed enclosures and an Iron Age fort encircling the hilltop, this is one of the richest and most spectacular archaeological sites in Britain.
The National Nature Reserve is one of the few substantial areas of flower- rich chalk downland left in Dorset. As summer progresses, a succession of flowers cast an ever-changing hue over the slope and provide a vital nectar source for many butterflies including the scarce and strikingly coloured Adonis blue.
Please keep dogs under close control when near livestock and on a lead at all times when sheep are grazing. Horseriders and cyclists should keep to the marked bridleways.
We hope that you enjoy your visit.
Leaflets about the archaeology and wildlife are available from the shops and pubs in Child Okeford"
